話說阿長不慎讓哥兒的寵物歸了西，心裡蠻不是滋味，哥兒又詰問起來，不好交代，只好編了個謊，搞得雙方都不痛快。阿長一心想攬回哥兒的心，但苦於無計，正聽哥兒日日念叨著什麼三什麼經，認為時機已到，便向哥兒打聽了明白。不久，阿長上路了。
街上是人山人海，可惜熱心腸的不多。幾經碰灰，終於覓到了一家書店，遂進。
「老闆，有沒有賣啥三啥經的？」阿長一邊尋看著書架，一邊探問道。
「這里有《詩經》《佛經》《財經》《三字經》等等，不知你指的是哪本？」伙計笑道。
「哦，你把那本《三字經》拿來我看看。」阿長滿懷希望，接過伙計遞過來的書，大略一翻，並沒有什麼哥兒所說的鬼呀魂呀之類的插圖，不覺有點失落。
「請問有沒有那種插圖的《三字經》？」阿長遞回了書，又朝書架掃了幾眼。
店伙計一愣，笑問道：「?悖浚∮幸饉劑耍?裁床逋跡俊
阿長仰起頭想了片刻。
「好像是什麼鬼呀魂呀之類奇怪的東西。」
「你說的不會是《聊齋志異》吧！」店伙計有點不耐煩，掂起撣子四處拍了拍。
「不，一定不是，好像是什麼經的！」阿長果斷地回答。
「沒有。」伙計板起了面孔，不聽她多一句話，便下了逐客令。
阿長挺委屈地走出店門，四下望瞭望，失望地往回走。
「怎麼辦，怎麼辦？」
她暗自思忖著，不覺踱到了一個書攤前，眼前一亮。
「有沒有畫著奇怪動物的三什麼經？」阿長俯下身子。
「有啊有啊！呃……瞧！」小販興奮地從書堆中淘出了四個小本，掂著一角在空中晃了晃。
阿長拿過一個小本，翻開來直起身子，忽而十分歡喜的樣子。
小販看了她一眼，樂呵呵地說：「這真是一本好書，小時候不知翻了多少遍了，上面還有?身人面像呢！四本《山海經》，八十文。」
阿長想都沒想，數出了八十文遞給他，接過那四本小書，用布包好，飛也似地跑去叫哥兒去了。

We get up at half past seven. After a good meal, we go to school at twenty to nine.
Classes begin at nine o』clock. We have Chinese, Math, English, geography, history,…of course, we also have art, PE, computer, science and music.
We have three classes in the morning and two classes in the afternoon. We have free lunch at school at noon. Before the classes in the afternoon, we have a short rest. School is over at three o』clock in the afternoon. Then we have plenty of time to play. We can go to the school library, play basketball or football with our classmates. And we can also go swimming in the swimming pool and go to park or do some other things.
When we come back home, it』s about six o』clock. After dinner, we have very little homework to do, so we have a lot of time to teach ourselves something we like. Then we can read books, and we can talk with our parents. We can tell them some things about our school life.
And we have no test. But we can have math competition, English speaking competition, basketball games and so on. In this way, every one can learn a lot of things, not only the knowledge in the books. We can learn more. And every one is so happy. We are all interested in school life like that.

睡到七點半。美美的吃過早餐之後，八點四十齣門上學。
九點上課。開有語文、數學、英語、地理、歷史，當然，還有美術、體育、計算機、科學和音樂。
上午三節課，下午兩節課。中午在學校吃免費的午餐。下午上課前，能休息一會。下午3點就放學，於是我們有大把的時間玩。可以去學校圖書館，或跟同學打籃球，踢足球，也可以去游泳池游泳，去公園，或做點別的什麼事。
大約6點回家。晚餐後幾乎沒什麼作業，所以我們就有時間可以自學些喜歡的東西。然後讀讀書，跟老爸老媽說說話，告訴他們一些學校里的事。
再就是沒有考試。可以有數學競賽，英語講演比賽，籃球比賽等等。用這樣的方式，可以學到很多，不只是書本里的東西，而是更多。每人都如此幸福，這樣的學校生活才是有趣的。
