一.單元內容分析
本單元是初中英語教材(SWE)Book4的第6單元.
本單元的話題是 "Cities of the world".在Lesson21 Part 1, Lesson22 part1中安排了兩篇關於London的對話.此外, Lesson24 里的兩篇文章分別描寫了兩個城市——Bangkok和 San Francisco. 並在Lesson 21 Part 1中融入了"約會用語"的學習.本單元的語法教學內容主要是目的狀語從句和讓步狀語從句.教學中若能引導學生自己發現規律,並注意機械操練和意義操練相結合,相信會有較好的效果.

Revision. Ask the Ss to say sth. about the cities we have learned in this unit.
Say: Except for these cities , there are still some other interesting cities in the world. Do you want to know more
Ⅱ Presentation
Invite 4-6 Ss to introce some other cities using powerPoint.(Suppose they are from different cities)
If the listeners have some questions about these cities, they can ask the introcers at once.
Discussion: Ask the Ss to discuss this question in pairs: If you have a chance to go traveling, which city do you prefer to go Why Ask some Ss to say his/her opinion.
Ⅲ Practice
Divide the Ss into small groups. Ask them to think about this :if you are the "Little Mayor of Guangzhou", how to introce Guangzhou all-sidedly to foreign visitors Invite several Ss to give a talk in front of the class.
