A 单元整体安排 (Unit Design)
一.单元内容分析
本单元是初中英语教材(SWE)Book4的第6单元.
本单元的话题是 "Cities of the world".在Lesson21 Part 1, Lesson22 part1中安排了两篇关于London的对话.此外, Lesson24 里的两篇文章分别描写了两个城市——Bangkok和 San Francisco. 并在Lesson 21 Part 1中融入了"约会用语"的学习.本单元的语法教学内容主要是目的状语从句和让步状语从句.教学中若能引导学生自己发现规律,并注意机械操练和意义操练相结合,相信会有较好的效果.
二.学生情况分析
大部分学生具备用简单语言交际的能力.
对于简单的文章,能基本阅读理解.
有一定的语言归纳能力.

Ⅰ Warming-up
Revision. Ask the Ss to say sth. about the cities we have learned in this unit.
Say: Except for these cities , there are still some other interesting cities in the world. Do you want to know more
Ⅱ Presentation
Invite 4-6 Ss to introce some other cities using powerPoint.(Suppose they are from different cities)
If the listeners have some questions about these cities, they can ask the introcers at once.
Discussion: Ask the Ss to discuss this question in pairs: If you have a chance to go traveling, which city do you prefer to go Why Ask some Ss to say his/her opinion.
Ⅲ Practice
Divide the Ss into small groups. Ask them to think about this :if you are the "Little Mayor of Guangzhou", how to introce Guangzhou all-sidedly to foreign visitors Invite several Ss to give a talk in front of the class.
